The Search Process
At The Excelsior Bay Group, we believe each search is a
critical component of our client’s strategic plan and how well the
individual integrates into the organization’s culture will determine the
level of success of a search and how the successful candidate contributes
to the advancement of the mission. Specific steps in our process:
- We discuss their organizational relationships, fundraising and
marketing strategies, donor and board expectations regarding the scope
of the position; we also compile the criteria needed in all potential
candidates.
- We prepare a Position Profile outlining the organization’s history,
structure, programs and future, along with a description of the
position’s responsibilities skills and abilities needed from the ideal
candidate.
- Our research is focused on assessing and filtering information to
identify key potential candidates. We compile a database of
talented professionals in the Twin Cities and the broader Minnesota
community, along with a network of industry leaders, business contacts,
and professional associations to create an extensive list of prospective
candidates.
- Our search team places sourcing and networking calls to identify and
attract individuals who meet the specifications listed in the Position
Profile.
- We evaluate potential candidates on their experience and
organizational culture fit.
- We lead a Candidate Review meeting to share summaries and
credentials of qualified candidates who fit the profile and determine
the client’s interviewing schedule.
- Our search team coordinates client/candidate interview meetings that
outline pertinent information to be considered in the successful
conclusion of the search process.
- Back-ground and reference checks are done to obtain in-depth
information and insights regarding the candidate’s work history and
integrity in the job.
In concluding the search, The Excelsior
Bay Group assists our client in structuring the compensation package and
other elements of the employment offer. Once the successful
candidate is hired, our search team follows-up periodically within the
first year on both the client and candidate to ensure a successful
integration into the client’s team. |
